NBCFAE History
Founded more than 50 years ago, the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) was established to connect and support minority air traffic controllers across the United States. Over time, the organization has grown in both scope and impact—now serving aviation professionals across all disciplines and extending its reach as far as the continent of Africa.
NBCFAE has remained steadfast in its commitment to advocacy, professional excellence, and workforce advancement throughout the aviation community. To date, the amount of scholarships awarded is approximately $1,200,000 in scholarships, helping talented and deserving students pursue post-secondary education and build pathways into meaningful careers.
In addition, NBCFAE has invested over $100,000 annually in workforce development and training, equipping aviation professionals with the skills and tools needed to lead, innovate, and excel.
For more than two decades, NBCFAE has also hosted aviation career education camps, introducing young students to the diverse opportunities within the aviation industry. Through hands-on exposure and mentorship from established professionals, these camps inspire the next generation to envision and pursue impactful careers in aviation.
